Nowruz at the MPC: Unity of cultures and traditions

The College of Medicine and Pharmacy celebrated one of the most vibrant and significant spring festivals — Nowruz — with great enthusiasm. This holiday, symbolizing the renewal of nature and the beginning of a new year, brought together students, faculty, and guests from various countries, highlighting the diversity of cultures and traditions.
As an international educational institution, MPC traditionally pays special attention to the celebration of Nowruz. This holiday is celebrated not only in Kyrgyzstan but also in many Eastern countries, among Turkic peoples, and in the Muslim world. This year, preparations for Nowruz began well in advance: students sprouted wheat to prepare the traditional dish sumalak, and teams actively prepared for competitions and contests.
The festive event began with the performance of the epic "Manas," which is a symbol of Kyrgyz culture and spirituality. This was followed by blessings from Kydyr-Ata and Umai-Ene, adding a special solemnity to the celebration. The program included concert performances, national games, competitions, and a display of traditional costumes.
The performances of teams representing various departments , as well as the Eurasian International University, the Medical-Pharmaceutical College, and the "Bilim Bishkek.kg" school, were particularly noteworthy. Each team prepared unique performances reflecting the culture and traditions of different countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Tatarstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. National costumes, songs, dances, and dishes created an atmosphere of true unity and friendship.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the ambassador of Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan, Hassan Ali Zaigham, academician M.M. Mamytov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and cultural figures.
Following the competition, the jury determined the winners:
- 1st place was awarded to the team from "Bilim Bishkek.kg" school;
- 2nd place went to the team from the Medical-pharmaceutical college;
- 3rd place was secured by the team from the department of pharmacy.
All participants received commemorative prizes, and those who excelled in national games were awarded special gifts.
The Nowruz celebration at MPC became a vivid example of how traditions and culture unite people of different nationalities, strengthening the spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation.
