Cultural Heritage in the Hearts of Young People: The Universe of Manas, the World of Chingiz Aitmatov
Today, the Eurasian International University hosted a vibrant cultural and creative event organized in collaboration with the International Medical University and the Medical and Pharmaceutical College. The celebration, titled “Manas Universe, Chingiz Aitmatov's World,” brought together students, teachers, and guests to honor two significant dates: the Day of the epic “Manas” (December 4), a symbol of heroism and unity for the Kyrgyz people, and the birthday of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov (December 12).
Honored guests of the event were representatives of the Manas National Theater, the Chingiz Aitmatov Foundation, teachers and students of the Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabayev, as well as teachers and students of the Bilim Bishkek Keji school.
The event began with a heartfelt performance by the young storytellers of the Bilim Bishkek Keji School. They passionately narrated stories about the great Manas, performed national songs, and danced, immersing the audience in the rich traditions of Kyrgyz culture. A particularly memorable moment was the performance by the narrator Angelika, who recited a passage from the epic “Manas” with such power and inspiration that the audience felt transported to ancient times.
Theatrical performances by students, inspired by the works of Chingiz Aitmatov, revealed the richness of artistic imagery that reflects the lives, nature, and complex inner worlds of the characters. These performances offered a deeper appreciation of the philosophical depth and multifaceted nature of the writer’s work.
A highlight of the celebration was the performance of the Kyrgyz national dance “Kara Jorgo” by students from India. This number illustrated the power of culture to unite people of different nationalities and strengthen intercultural bonds.
The event became a symbolic bridge between generations and cultural epochs. Leaders of the participating educational institutions underscored the importance of such events in fostering respect for national traditions, culture, and history among young people.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that the epic “Manas” and the works of Chingiz Aitmatov are spiritual treasures that should live in the hearts of every Kyrgyzstani, inspiring the preservation and enrichment of cultural heritage.
